Me, Me, Monday

Good Morning! Hope all is well with all of you today after our marvelous Homecoming yesterday!!

Me, me, Monday!! Isn't it strange how this world magnifies the fleshly desire for us to put ourselves first. I think we all have that within us. We go to schedule something, and we think how it will affect us, our family and the like. The Bible calls us to be selfless not selfish. We are called to deny ourselves and take up our cross daily. I don't think it's any coincidence that the Bible says we have to do it daily, because it is so against what our flesh desires.

Think about it. In our lives, what is really ours????

Our husband? - Nope - a gift from God.
Our kids? - Nope - a gift from God.
Our parents? - Nope - a gift from God.
Our time? - Nope - a gift from God.
Our homes, finances, cars, everything - think about it, really, absolutely everything is a gift from God!!

Praise God and thank him for all the gifts he has given you. He's given us these things to be good stewards over, not to be selfish with.
God has given us everything we have! What have we given him? Are we being selfish by not telling others about him. We can't be selfish with our salvation! Let's go out and tell others about Jesus!

Love you gals! Hold me accountable for this, because this is hard for me! Ask me who I've shared Jesus with today!

Sweet Smelling Saturday

Mornin'! I haven't started cooking, yet. But I'm sure some of you have. I'm sure we will all have sweet smelling houses today! We just have to keep our families out of it (until tomorrow) or, maybe we can make a little extra, for them to have today. I know when my kiddos smell those brownies, they will be running to the kitchen!!

I have some sad news. I saw Miss Tina yesterday at the Pig, and I know a lot of you thought she may be bringing some homemade bread, but she won't be able to (wink wink, how was that for subtle, Tina????) I'll tell you where to hide the bread tomorrow!! Ha Ha!!

Just Kiddin' girls!!

Can't wait to see you all tomorrow!! Hey, we need to start doing this every Sunday, if everyone brought just 1 dish, we could have an awesome buffet every Sunday, and enjoy each others company for a little longer!! At least once a month, or so anyway. Somebody bring that up, why don't cha.

Have a great day!

FUNNY FRIDAY!!

Food Friday

Am I overly ambitious today? NOOOOO! Just wanted to remind everyone that homecoming is Sunday and don't forget about your chocolate - woops - I mean food!

Love Ya'll!

Finance Friday

Good Morning! Hope this fabulous Friday finds you all well! I'd like to encourage all of us to take a look at our finances today. I know not everyone enjoys this topic.
A few questions:
Do you have a budget?
Are you honoring God with your firstfruits? (tithing 10%)
Do you have an emergency fund?
Are all your credit cards paid in full each month?
Are you saving some for the future?
Did you know that by paying 10% extra on your principle of your home loan each month (example: if your payment is $1500 a month, pay the $1500 and pay $150 extra (total $1650) You will pay a 30 year loan off seven years early? Wow!!

I have taken a Dave Ramsey class, and have some of the materials, including CD teachings and books, and CD roms for financial forms to print out from your computer. If anyone is interested, just let me know and I will bring the stuff to you!!

Love you gals! Let's all live Financially smart and have peace! It really makes a difference!!

Answered Prayer!!

I would like to thank everyone who has prayed for Jackson. He no longer qualifies for speech through Tennessee Early Intervention System!! Ms. Brenda was coming to our house once a week, and even though we will miss her terribly, we are truly thankful to God for his gift of speech (Big gift of speech) for Jackson.

I think too many times we hear of the prayer requests and never hear of the outcomes. So, let's make sure and tell others of our Answered prayers!! It may encourage someone to pray, you never know!!

The winner!! (baby invitations)

If you weren't at church last night, sorry you didn't get to vote, but Jeanie left it up to me, and I called in backup!! The majority rules, and this was the winner. You can see the finished product in a week or so!! Thanks for the votes!!

Tenderhearted Thursday

Good Morning! It's Tenderhearted Thursday. I have to admit, I'm fair at being tenderhearted with others, but, I fail the most when it comes to my family. Do you find that to be true about you, too? It seems like I won't give them any slack. We should minister first at home. It should be the other way around, but do we (I) do it because we want people to think we are nicer than what we are? Is this a phony front? I truly am tenderhearted, when I show compassion, I mean it. I just don't show it enough!!

Let's be a little more tenderhearted this Thursday!!

Wonderful Wednesday

Hey gals! I'd like to tell you of a couple of (free!!!) wonderful things. First of all you can get a free subscription to the Above Rubies magazine. It's such a blessing to me, and the lady that heads it all up is from Franklin, TN! You can go to www.aboverubies.org and subscribe. You can also subscribe to the weekly email devotions, just send a blank email to: subscribers-on@aboverubies.org. I just have to share with you a poem that is in this edition, I think we can all relate.

A Wonderful Thing

Being a mother is a wonderful thing,
My bedside alarm, it never need ring,
I'm awakened each day with bright cheerful faces,
And soon 'round the table they've all taken places.

Our meal is seasoned with plenty of chatter,
The fruit and the muffins fly from the platter,
There are stories to share and a Bible verse too,
We reverently pray-it's not always a zoo!

The day is so full of a number of things;
First chores, then schoolwork, then song practicings,
Cooking and cleaning and book-reading too,
A mom of wee children has plenty to do!

I've heard busy times end as quick as they start,
So, I'll treasure these days, store them up in my heart,
Small children grow up-the time goes so fast,
The business of mothering soon will be past.

Be cheerful and thankful each day that you've got,
Greater joy anywhere, there surely is not!
As you work through your duties may God hear you sing,
'Cause being a mother is a wonderful thing!

Tangible Tuesday

Morning, Ladies! The Webster's Dictionary defines tangible as perceptible by touch; real or concrete; assets having value that can be appraised. First of all, no, I couldn't live without my dictionary and I was looking for something that started with a T and it seemed the best place to look.

Now, don't you think it's funny that the most tangible (asset that has the greatest value) thing in our lives is something that is more real and concrete than anything in the whole world but it is not perceptible by touch. That's our salvation that comes from Jesus Christ and you can only accept that wonderful asset by faith, and that is something that cannot be appraised by anyone else.

Wow! Mr. Webster, you need another definition!!

Have a great day and remember to thank Jesus for all he has done for you and your family.

Thankful Thursday

Hello Ladies! It's Thankful Thursday! I want to encourage you to make a list of the things that you are thankful for today, and while that list grows longer than you ever thought it would, remember to praise God and thank Him for all your blessings.

Ephesians 5:20 "giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ"

What's Up Wednesday????

Hey, gals! What are you up to today? I'm gonna spend some of my time on What's Up Wednesday contacting people I've not talked to in a while, and see what they are up to. Is there an elderly neighbor that would be happy to see or hear from you? Or maybe a Grandparent or parent you haven't talked to in a while?? Let's see what others are up to this Wednesday. Maybe we can bless them in some small way!

Also, Brother Joe convicted me last night. I should be doing more for the Kingdom of God. It's all of our jobs! Let's tell someone about Jesus today, so if Jesus comes back tomorrow, they will be there with us!! Amen!

Love you gals!!

Brother Joe Revival Style!!

Grati-Tuesday

Hello, everyone! Today is Grati-Tuesday. What do you need to show gratitude for today? My websters dictionary simply defines gratitude as "appreciation". Is there someone you need to show your gratitude or appreciation to today?

Ok, I gotta confess. All these things I'm saying are things that I need to work on myself. So, if I think someone is reading them, I will be held accountable and feel guilty if I don't do them. So, let's be accountability partners. When you see me, ask me if there's anyone I've shown my appreciation to??

Let's all show Brother Joe our appreciation and support for the great job he does for us!! Let's go out and support him tonight at Walnut Grove Baptist Church!! (And, no, I'm not using this as my gratitude gift. I'm also requiring myself to show appreciation to someone else!)

Sister Lesa and Sister Tina, it was great seeing you last night at Revival!! (Bill, too, but this is the Ladies blog!! Ha Ha!)

M & M Mondays

No, I'm not eating a bunch of chocolates. (Although not a bad idea). M & M stands for 2 things that do not go together, but totally describe my Mondays. Messiah (I usually have a lot of devotional and quiet time on Mondays, I can't explain it, except with the busyness of the weekends, I feel that I need it) and Messy (yep, you guessed it, after the weekends, my house is usually messy. I try to use this as a worship time also. I put on some good praise music LOUD and sing LOUD and I usually have a little background singer!! )
Anyone care to join me in my M & M Monday? Let's praise God and bless our family with a clean(er) house! Love you Ladies, have a great day!!

Challenge

After listening to Brother Joe's awesome sermon, I feel convicted. So, if any of you out there are with me in this boat, join me in a challenge. I'm challenging myself to do something nice for someone that's hard to be nice to. In addition to this, I'm going to "look and be aware" of others needs and see if I can't help somehow. Let's pray about this and see how we can see God move!! Let us all know the awesome results!! Give God the glory!!

Homecoming

Homecoming is quickly approaching us. Dottie is making a list of what we plan to bring (so we don't have a lot of duplicate dishes) See Dottie, and let her know what you'll be bringing good for us to eat (AND REMEMBER, CHOCOLATE IS ALWAYS GOOD) Ha, Ha!!

Mission Opportunities

Girls in Action
Our young girls that meet on Wednesday Nights, Girls in Action, will be celebrating "Christmas in August." The way they celebrate is by collecting items that outreach mission facilities are in need of to house/clothe/minister to those in need. Please support our young girls who support missions by bringing in the needed items. (See tree in foyer).

Ministering to Moms to Be
There are 2 young ladies expecting children in the next 2 months, and to reach out to these mothers-to-be several of the ladies will be collecting items to make a gift basket. One is a girl, one is a boy, so take your pick and take the opportunity to express Jesus' love and care. (More info, see Jeanie).

Welcome Ladies!!

I'm so glad you have come to check out this blog!! I'd like for all of us ladies to become a close-knit community!! I think we have so much to share; burdens, prayer requests, praises and whatever God leads you to share! Welcome, and I'm so excited about this!!
