Mornin' Gals!! Here's a quote I got in an e-mail, that I thought was pretty neat.
To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.' When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'
Now that I concentrate on that sentence, it goes right along with the Bible Study I started this morning. It is an Elizabeth George Bible study on Judges and Ruth, about Cultivating a life of character. The first person we looked at was JOSHUA. (so you know who I thought of). I hope you will bear with me for a minute while I give you some of my study.
"Joshua, unlike the people he led, didn't make any rash commitments. Instead he cultivated a life of character by faithfully devoting himself to God, to serving Him and doing so according to His Word. What a blessing it is here in our first lesson to discover the first lesson about serving the Lord God! Here we've met a true man of character. We've looked at what it took for Joshua to be a man of character, a man in good standing with God. Perhaps the following words say it best to our hearts. Read them... and then make your own heart response: What must-and will!- you do about your own commitment to serve the Lord?
The call to commitment is a call to constant vigilance in maintaining and understanding the standards of that commitment. No matter what distractions a godly leader may encounter, he or she needs to maintain his or her focus on serving the Lord."
Thanks for putting up with me today, and sorry it was so long. I just get excited when I'm in one of her studies. If you haven't done one, I must say, I haven't seen a bad one yet, they are done in 15-20 minutes a day, but they go deeper than just a surface study.
God Bless all of you!! Have a great Saturday!! I plan on turning up the music and praising the Lord as I CLEAN , CLEAN, CLEAN!!
See ya'll tomorrow!!
