More Monday

Mornin' Girls!! I need a longer day today, because, I have a lot to get done! Ever felt that way? I sure hope I'm not the only one. I have to share a story with you.

I don't usually go to the Sunday evening service. It is hard on Jackson, we are usually there in the morning way after his nap time. He normally doesn't get to lay down until he would be getting up. I know you all know how important routines are to little ones. Well, he normally goes down for a nap on Sunday's about 2:00 or so (after we have time to eat), and he doesn't get up until 6 or 7. He "normally" stays up a little later, and goes to bed and sleeps all night. (Did you notice how many times I used the word "normally"??)

So, I bet you're guessing last night was different. You'd be right! I read him 4 stories, and put him to bed around 10. Well, about the time I got dozed off really good he started REALLY crying! (around 11:15) I was soooo tired, and we all know we do crazy things when we're tired. So, I decided, I didn't want to get him up, but instead I'd get in the bed with him. (Ok, you have to know that he's still in a crib - and I will probably keep him there as long as possible - that way, you don't have to worry about them following you out of the room when you put them to bed!!)
Well, he LOVED this idea!! I got to lay there and cuddle with him, and we were both loving it!! Then he decided, more than one in the crib, so we'll PARTY!! First he sat up, I didn't say anything, then I was pretending to be asleep (I think, I may have been asleep - I was really tired) So, he started saying "Momma, where are you?" over and over, then I opened one eye, and he said "Oh, you're winking, Momma!" Then he kept doing all these funny things. I was pretending to be asleep again, and he started acting like he was picking something off my cheek - (which kinda concerned me, because he has a new habit of picking his nose) but then he said, "Do you have any more ticks, Momma? Oh, there's one!" It was freckles. (at least I think it was) Then he started yelling "Daddy, Sissy, wake up!!" I continued to tell him how he needed to whisper. Then, I got a little stern with him, and told him he needed to lay down. He started fake - crying and said "I cryin' Momma, I cryin' " Sometimes, it's sooo hard not to laugh! Then we decided to get up and have a snack. He ate come chips, and I had some sourdough bread. Sitting in the kitchen floor, I thought "How can I see God in all of this?"

1. Not sure, but the manna from heaven had to taste like sourdough bread. How else could they have lived on it for that long???? I could live on that stuff!!

2. Jackson said "I need chocolate" while he was in the kitchen floor, which made me smile, because he definitely got that from his Momma! And I'm pretty sure chocolate is straight from heaven, because of James 1: 17a "Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above." I know there's not many perfect things in this world, but I think chocolate is pretty close!!!!

3. Jackson is a gift of God - See above (James 1:17a)

4. I consider this time with him a gift from God, because otherwise, we would have just been sleeping, and how fun is that when there's a crib party downstairs!?!?!?!

Love all of you, and I encourage you to try to see God in the unusual, everyday things!! He's there!
