Think about it Tuesday

Mornin' Ladies of Grace!! I hope you are all off to a wonderful day, I know I am. I got up at 4:45 to spend some time with the Lord, and I was truly blessed by it.

I read Esther this morning. Most of the time, when I read Esther, I think about Esther, and Mordecai. But today, the Lord got me to thinking about Queen Vashti. She was stripped of her royal "queenhood" (ok, not sure what word to use here, so go with me.) because she refused to appear when beckoned in front of a bunch of drunk men. The Bible doesn't say why she refused. (Some commentaries say she knew they were drunk and would be acting lewdly, or she could have been pregnant with Artaxerxes.) Ok. Let's think about this. Whatever the reason she had, can you blame her???? But God was there. Even though she was stripped of her "queenhood", if she hadn't refused, Esther wouldn't have become Queen. All of the Jews could have been killed, and that is the people God promised to raise Jesus from. Can you imagine the sorrow, anger and all the emotions she felt?
I guess what I got out of it is sometimes it's God's plan. She didn't do anything wrong (I don't think) but it seemed she was punished. Don't you feel that way sometimes? I know I have. But, we just have to trust that God will bring us through our situations. We don't hear any more about her, but later, Artaxerxes, her son became King (Ezra 7:1).
I know that God was all up in the book of Esther. I mean, the King got insomnia, at just the right time, and had the books read to him and learned of what Mordecai did, and decided to reward him (AFTER 5 YEARS!!! HOW'S THAT FOR PATIENCE???? Way to go Mordecai!! )
Ok, I've rambled enough. I just got really inspired with Queen Vashti today, not to mention Esther, and Mordecai!

I'm so tickled that all in our house is well today, praise the Lord, and I'm sooooo looking forward to the Ladies Bible study tonight!!!!!!!
