Much to say Monday

Mornin' Ladies!! Hope you all had a blessed weekend. I took the weekend off from blogging, and from the internet all together. But, it's good to be back.

First of all, I have to say it was AWESOME to have baby Joshua in worship yesterday!! I have to say, I had the perfect seat, to just watch him. He seems like an awesomely good baby. (Not to mention adorable!!!)

Ok, ya'll are going to think I've went off my rocker this morning. (And that's different from any other day how??? LOL!!) I was reading in one of my devotionals this morning. Ok, it sent me to Galations 5. It actually said "The key to living a life of joy, peace, and victory is found in Galations 5. Notice that I did NOT say a life without confilict or one free of temptation, trial, or heartache." So, I then read Gal. 5. Then I went to my Life Application study Bible, and read all of the commentary for Gal. 5. I'd like to highlight a few of the commentary notes.

(5:1) Christ came to set us free - not to do whatever we want because that would lead us back into slavery to our selfish desires. Rather, thanks to Christ, we are now free and able to do what was impossible before - to live unselfishly.

(5:6) Love for others and for God is the response of those whom God has forgiven. Because faith expresses itself through love, you can check your love for others as a way to monitor your faith.

(5:9) It only takes one wrong person to infect all the others.

(5:14,15) When we believers lose the motivation of love, we become critical of others. We stop looking for good in them and see only their faults. When you begin to feel critical of someone make a list of that person's positive qualities. When problems need to be addressed, confront in love rather than gossip.

(5:16-18) Being led by the Holy Spirit involves the desire to hear, the readiness to obey God's Word, and the sensitivity to discern between your feelings and His promptings. Live each day controlled and guided by the Holy Spirit. Then the words of Christ will be in your mind, the love of Christ will be behind your actions, and the power of Christ will help you control your selfish desires.

I hope this speaks to you today. I know it did me, and we didn't even get to the fruit of the Spirit yet. Well, to be continued. I gotta go get my tires rotated.

Love Ya'll!!
