Putting More CHRIST in CHRISTmas
By Lorrie Flem Let's replace worldly activities with ones that include spiritual meaning. Here are some ideas to help you make this year, and every year, a Merry CHRISTmas.
- Make Him a Part of Every Day
"Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit," Matthew 12:33.If He isn't in our everyday lives we cannot very well make Him an integral part of this holiday. So, first of all, make sure He is a part of your life every day; pray, sing, praise, and read His Word. When you live your life with Him in the center your children will "see" Him and begin to know Him more everyday.
I have a recipe for you today. I'm making this for supper. I have a lot of things to do (and I'm sure you do too)! It helps me if I can make supper in the morning. This recipe lasts for a few days! (even better) If you make this with my proportions, make sure and use a LARGE pot!!!! I use a super duper size pot that I use for canning!!
Junk Soup
1-2 pounds browned ground beef
1 can tomato juice
1 can tomatoes
2 cans whole kernel corn
2 cans black eyed peas
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 jar potatoes, carrots, onions (I use some home canned that Donnie's Mom gives us)
spices - salt, pepper, minced onions, seasoned salt
Have a great 1st day of December!!!! Remember Jesus is the Reason for the Season! Love ya'll!!
