Experiencing God Weekly Memory Verse

"Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment.' " Matthew 22: 37-38, NIV

Friday's Findings

Good mornin' Ladies of Grace! I love the Lord!! I've got a lot to say today, and I'm probably gonna be rambling, so just get ready. The first thing I want to say is "Bring on the SNOW!!!!" Woo Hoo! I loooove snow!!

Ok, maybe a little background before I start rambling. I don't know if it was Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, or someone else, but, in a Bible study, or book I read, someone said to pay attention if certain scriptures continue repeating themselves. Like, say, you're reading a devotional, it has that scripture, then you go to your daily Bible reading (by chance) it's the same scripture, then you're reading a book, same scripture, then you hear someone quote it. Coincidence? I don't think so!! It's a God incidence!! When that happens to me, I try to go deeply into that scripture. I meditate on it, just to see if I can apply it somehow in my life. Then I go to different Bible commentaries, then I look to see the cross-references to other scriptures. This used to happen to me quite often, but it hasn't in a while. OK, it's majorly happening now!! One of the verses is one that Brother Joe used on Wednesday, Phil. 6:6-7 "Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses every thought will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." HCSB. Ok, I'd like to quote some of the references. "Scripture commands us not to worry. Anxiety demonstrates a lack of faith. Christ promised to provide for all our needs. We must choose to believe Him and obey no matter what the circumstances might be." Encounters with God - Blackaby Bible
"Anxiety wanes and eventually disappears when we take our concerns to the God who has the power and the wisdom to take care of them, believing that He always has our best interests at heart. If we dwell on negative things, our frame of mind will soon turn sour, pessimistic, and negative. If we fill our minds with the things of God - with prayer and thanksgiving - the opposite occurs and we begin to see the world as God sees it." Charles Stanley

You're not gonna believe it, but John 15:5 came up in my devotional yesterday. So, I went deeper into that. I'm not gonna quote the verse, you should know it by now!! LOL! (Besides it's at the top of the page) "Out of our intimate relationship with God flows everything of consequence. Apart from His presence in our lives, we can don nothing of eternal significance." Encounters with God Bible
"The only way we can play a significant role in the kingdom of God is to allow Jesus to live His life in and through us. While apart from Him we can do nothing, in Him we can do anything He calls us to do. Jesus does not want any of us to lead unproductive or unfocused lives. He chose us not only for salvation, but also to play a significant role in His kingdom. He wants each of us to fulfill a particular purpose." Charles Stanley. One thing I noticed about both of these was the fact that both chose to use the words consequence and significant. Wow! Think about that!

Now, I'd like to say, (Noooo, I haven't said enough already) I started reading a book "Having a Mary Spirit" by Joanna Weaver. It has been an excellent thing to read along with the study we are doing. Believe it or not, I'd like to quote something from that book. LOL! "My deepest fear is waking up twenty years from now still the same woman I am today. With the same annoying habits and petty attitudes; with the same besetting sins and false beliefs. I can't imagine anything more terrible than getting to the end of my life only to discover that God had so much more in mind for me - more freedom, more joy, more peace, more true effectiveness. And I had missed it all, simply because I refused to change."

Lord, please let us all be the clay in your amazing potters hands. Mold us into what you would have us to be! Amen!

Thursday Thoughts

Mornin' Ladies!! Hope today is fruitful for you, because, you know if you remain in Him you will bear much fruit!! Amen? Have you got your memory verse down? I think I do. Just be prepared!! This church will quiz you, and catch you off guard, and talk to you while you say it to flub you up, so my advice, know it inside out! I got tripped up twice last night! LOL!

The first Ladies Mission meeting went well on Tuesday night. Donna is our new secretary. We are adopting a church member for "project prom". We are going to raise the money ourselves with a spaghetti dinner for the church, after church one day, and take donations for the dinner. We will use that money for prom tickets, clothing, flowers, picture money, meal money, gas money, etc. If you are interested in helping, see Dottie.

Are you enjoying the Experiencing God class? I am. Donnie and I are enjoying it. I really enjoyed seeing the excitement, and praises about it last night!! I feel closer to God, and to my church family. This is awesome!!!!!

I love you guys. Read your Bible. Study your Bible. Talk to God. Do your homework. Have a blessed day!

Questions for you (and me).

Mornin' girls. Got a few questions for you (and me) this morning. Have you ever wanted to just be quiet? Have you ever thought that someone else talks too much? Have you ever thought that YOU talk to much? Has anyone ever interrupted you when you are talking? (Ok, Jeanie, I'm talking about myself, and this has absolutely nothing to do with what you said yesterday! ;)!!) Have you ever interrupted anyone while they were talking? Have you ever got off of the phone, or left a friend and thought, WOW! I sure did talk a lot and did I listen at all, or did I just completely talk about myself and my problems/issues/things going on? And, have you ever had someone that just called you when they wanted something????(OK, PLEASE KNOW THAT I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT ANY PERSON OTHER THAN MYSELF. I am taking all of these from instances in my own life. -- Ok, just as an example, I'm sure NOBODY can identify with this one. Have you ever talked so much, you couldn't stop talking, and got on your own nerves????? OK, see, I'm talking about myself)
I said all of that to say this. Have you ever went to the Lord and not asked for ANYTHING??? Have you ever sat quietly in His presence? I mean, if prayers are our conversations with God, when do WE listen?? If we don't listen, how do we know His will, or what we should do?
Let's make it a priority to LISTEN to God! I think He's telling me to be quiet again!! LOL;)!!!

Love ya'll. I saw on facebook that Traci went through the surgery well, but was in quite a lot of pain. Let's remember her in our prayers.
Don't forget the Ladies Mission Meeting tonight at 6pm in the fellowship hall!

Experiencing God on Monday Morning

Mornin' Ladies!! I guess if you were at the Experiencing God class last night, you know that Donnie and I are in the class, we are just doing it from home. We will be with you in mind and spirit, and will be praying for you! I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS CLASS!! I'm excited to see what God chooses to do through us!! I'd like to share some things from my Experiencing God Day by Day devotional, I thought was so fitting after starting the class last night!!

The Father Draws You

And He said, "Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father." John 6:65

Throughout Jesus' ministry on earth, He never seemed intimidated by the crowds. Instead, He looked into the multitudes and focused on those whom His Father was sending to Him. Jesus knew that because of sin, no one naturally seeks after God. Sinful man's inclination is to hide from God rather than come to Him. (Gen. 3:8, Ps. 14:1-3) Therefore, whenever Jesus saw that the Father was drawing a person to Himself, Jesus immediately began relating to that person.
Jesus observed the great lengths to which the despised tax collector, Zacchaeus, had gone in order to see Him pass by. In response, Jesus immediately left the crowd and spent time with this man in whom the Father was obviously working (Luke 19:1-10). Likewise, every time the disciples experienced a new insight into the truths of God, Jesus recognized that it was the Father who had been at work in their lives (Matt. 16:17).
As the multitudes gathered around Jesus, He spoke some truths that were difficult for the people to grasp (John 6:60). So challenging were His words that many of His listeners departed, but Jesus did not become discouraged. He saw that the Father was working in the lives of His disciples, and that is where Jesus invested His time. As you desire to spend time alone with Jesus, recognize that this if the Father drawing you to His Son. You do not seek quiet times with God in orderto experience Himbut because you are alreadysensing His activity. As you read the Scriptures and pray, trust that God will honor your response to His leading by teaching you more about Himself.

I guess Donnie and I got a little ahead of ya'll. We watched the first night's dvd. Oh, well, I heard that Jeanie was afraid I'd go ahead in the book. I didn't. The first night's homework (which we did last night) clearly said not to go ahead. I did however read today's homework this morning. (I am waiting for Donnie to do it though.) LOL!! It's gonna be hard not to go ahead. But I will persevere!! I will excercise self control!! LOL!!

Love ya'll. Have a great day. Please remember Traci Jones in your prayers, she's having surgery today.

Thursday Thoughts

Mornin' girls! I don't know if you noticed or not, but we have filled one of the vacant slots to Women of Joy. Thanks to Jeanie, because, it's her sister!! Woo Hoo! I think she's really excited to go, and it will be a great time for 3 of their family members to get to worship and spend the weekend together!!

I really enjoyed the Bible service last night! I have to say, I think that was my favorite name for God. Now, we only need to get Jeanie to sing the song for us!!!! lol!

Ok, I guess this whole day is just gonna be about Jeanie. Ha Ha! Thanks for turning me on to hot tea, and bringing some for me to try. I tried the sleepytime tea last night, and the peach this morning. YUMMMM! I never thought of myself as a hot tea drinker. But the Lord is really dealing with me this year on sooooo many different things, and letting me know things won't always turn out the way I think they will. I think He's working on my character. Thank goodness it's HIM, otherwise it would be impossible!! LOL!!

Love ya'll! Have a great one!

Wednesday

Mornin' girls! I just have to say if I were one of the seven dwarfs this morning I would be GRUMPY!!!!! It's not even 7:30 yet this morning, and I have been fussed at by my 8 year old, after letting her know in no certain terms, that I was tired of being fussed at every morning, and I was the Momma, and I deserved and would get respect, if she couldn't do anything but fuss, then she should just keep her mouth shut. I then sent myself to my room. That's where I am now. I have prayed for a new attitude, because frankly, HE is the only one that can give it to me!!

I just wanted to share with you a few things. I heard last night on TV, and I'm not saying this verbatim, but the essence of it was "God gives us tests and trials because He trusts us." I'd never really thought about it like that. We are to count them all as joy, and frankly, that thought will help me do just that. They went on and talked about Job and that God isn't the one that put all the bad things on him, but he ALLOWED satan to do it. Then, in my daily Bible, it had this thought, that I thought was awesome, and I'd like to share with ya'll.

"The Meaning of Trials"
"Some people think that difficult circumstances are an indication that they are heading in the wrong direction or that God is not in what they are doing. In actual fact, the exact opposite may be true. Difficult circumstances, crises, trials, and tests may all be a part of God's plan to use you. But He may have in mind to do some things in your life first. He may want to refine your character because there are flaws which will destroy your effectiveness down the road. (Oh no, I may be here forever!!!) He may want to reveal something about Himself to you in the midst of a crisis that you will need to know in the coming days. He may decide to see if your heart truly belongs to Him, or if there are other distractions that are more important to you. He may want to show you how much He loves you in the midst of persecution, so that your dependency will be on Him and your priorities will be in order. Then, after these trials have passed, God will be able to use you in a significant way, knowing your heart is completely devoted to Him, that you are trustworthy and will remain faithful to the end. Trials, persecution, testing, times of crisis and temptation are never bad, they are only things God works through to show Himself strong on your behalf and to demonstrate His love for you. They are instruments that can measure your devotion to Him and the depth of love you have for Him. Your eyes should never be on the crisis, test or trial, but on God and what He wants to do in your life through them. Pray that you will not be distracted by what you see around you and miss what God is doing in you."

Wow! Don't you think that makes it a little easier to "count it all joy"?

Love ya'll! Have a great one!

Thinkin' Tuesday

Mornin' Girls!! I think the Lord had me quiet yesterday for a good reason!! But, boy oh boy, I'm not quiet today, so get ready for a little rambling, and hopefully it will make some sense, if not, just chalk it up to one of those "Angie" things and go on.

Have you ever had a friend or loved one with a problem and while trying to help them, realized, you have the same issues that you haven't dealt with in your life, so who are you to try to help them? Then, did it make you wonder if the Lord put that in your path so you would have to deal with your issues? Then, did it make you see that you can't do ANYTHING without the help of the Lord? Did it then make you wonder how you have treated people in the past, and wonder if you had caused anyone pain, that will last and be a burden to them? Did it then make you wonder what causes pain, strife, arguments and fights to begin with? It's plain out selfishness! It's not putting others before yourself, and it's because you don't get your way. And, please know, I'm not preaching to anyone here (but myself!!) If this tends to make you realize some things, then, we will know that this lesson is from the Lord.

I love you all! I'm so glad to have a loving church family. I thank you all for all that you do for the church, for each other, and for me! Love to all! Remember to ask Jesus for help. He's the only one that can do it anyway!!

Cheap Nails

Sharon Jaynes

Today's Truth
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he (she) is a new creation, the old is gone, and the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Friend To Friend
One of the greatest philosophers of all time is Charlie Brown, the little round-headed kid in Charles Schulz's Peanuts cartoon. But even Charlie Brown has his problems. One day he was visiting his psychiatrist, Lucy. Lucy sat pensively behind her makeshift booth that resembled a lemonade stand. Her shingle read - Psychiatric Help 5 cents.

Frame one: Lucy says to Charlie Brown, "Your life is like a house…"

Frame tw "You want your house to have a solid foundation, don't you?"

Frame three: "Of course you do…"

Frame four: "So don't build your house on the sand, Charlie Brown…"

Frame five: A strong wind blows, knocking Lucy off her chair and the booth into a heap on the ground.

Frame six: "or use cheap nails."

I see many women today who have started building their spiritual houses on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, but then proceed to build on that foundation with the cheap nails of outward appearance, performance, possessions, power, and the praises of others. Alas, when the strong winds of adversity begin to blow, just like Lucy's makeshift psychiatric booth, we fall apart.

In second Corinthians 3:10-15, Paul talks about two types of building materials. One type is wood, hay, and stubble. These are what man produces. He plants and he reaps. They are very temporary and can be burned up or lost in a moment. The other type of building material is gold, silver, and precious stones. These are what God has created, but we just have to discover - sometimes requiring digging through mountains of dirt.

The culture's outward beauty ideas are very temporary … wood, hay, and stubble. But the principles found in God's Word are eternal with everlasting results. We can try the beauty tips in the magazines, but true beauty occurs when we sit in God's spa and let Him perform a miracle.

Women love the idea of a day at the spa. After all, Queen Esther in the Bible stayed in a spa for an entire year before she claimed her title of Mrs. Xerxes. Her beauty regimen included six months with oils of myrrh and six months with perfumes and cosmetics (Esther 2:12). Not only that, she was assigned seven maids to take care of her every need. Now that sounds like a spa package worth looking into!

Let's face it, women want to be beautiful. However, many fail to realize that true beauty begins on the inside and works its way out. But how do you become beautiful on the inside? You will not discover the secret in magazines, talk shows, or reality TV. Inner beauty is the result of God's transforming power in the heart of a willing soul. He doesn't simply cover up our flaws; He miraculously starts from scratch and makes us new. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, (she) is a new creation," Paul wrote, "the old is gone, and the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The best beauty treatment is spending time with the makeover artist Himself … Jesus. God's spa is always open and the price has already been paid. So what are we waiting for! I'll see you there.

Let's Pray
Dear God, I thank You that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Lord, I pray that You will make me spiritually beautiful. I thank You that I am a new creation in Christ. Help me to walk in that truth today and wear that heavenly glow that only comes by spending time with You.

In Jesus' Name,
Amen.

Now It's Your Turn
Do you have any "cheap nails" in your life? If so, what are they?

Have you ever gone through a struggle and seen those "cheap nails" give way under the pressure?

What do you think it means to be a "new creation?"

Write today's truth on an index card and memorize it.

I always like to hear what my girlfriends in God are thinking. Let's talk about cheap nails and come up with a list. Visit my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/sharonjaynes and let's share our ideas.

More From The Girlfriends

Fabulous Fantastic Friday

Mornin' gals! I'd just like to remind everyone of Austin Bickford's bone marrow drive tomorrow at the high school from 10am-3pm for anyone who is interested.

I'd like to share with you today, some things from my morning devotionals. Some don't need any extra words, but some do.

A barometer for spiritual growth

13 signposts to mark your progress (By Charles Stanley)

1. A hunger to know God more.
2. A desire to know the truth of the Word.
3. An increasing awareness of our sinfulness.
4. a quick response to sin, involving genuine repentance.
5. Joy in the midst of intense spiritual battles.
6. Understanding trials and temptations as opportunities for growth
When do you think Christians grow more- during the times of hardship, or times of success? The truth is that we generally learn the most about the Lord during those periods when everything seems hopeless. Even though the situation is painful, mature believers recognize the potential for God to reveal Himself in a mighty way. When our backs are against the wall and we have no choice but to trust the Lord's power to see us through the trial, we discover things about His character that could not have been revealed otherwise. In that we find that the benefits far outweigh the losses in our struggles (2 Cor 4:17)
7. Viewing service to God as an honor, not a burden.
8. Viewing everything - both good and bad - as coming from the Lord.
Too often when tragedy occurs, we try to protect the Lord by saying, "Well, surely God had nothing to do with that." My friend, God does not need our protection, nor does He need us to make excuses for Him! In other words, everything that happens - whether good or bad - is under His control.
At times we may not understand the Lord's purposes for certain things; nevertheless, we are to trust that His will is perfect and He is able to bring good out of any situation. It is important tha His children believe what He says in Romans 8:28 - that God can and does work all things together for good to those who love and serve Him.
9. Faith to ask God for bigger things.
10. Eagerness to share Christ with others.
11. Earnest desire to give to the Lord's work.
One key evidence of a believer's maturity is what happens to his pocketbook. Over and over again, Scripture warns us about the dangers of money. Did you know that Jesus taught more on this subject than any other topic in the Bible?
12. An increasing awareness of God in every area of life.
A mature believer is one who is constantly aware of the presence and work of God.
13. The priority of a personal devotional life.
The most important part of the day for a mature believer is the time dedicated solely to growing closer to the Father. It is then that we are filled with power, direction, and comfort. Our time of devotion sets the tone for the whole day; if we frantically rush through praying, chances are great that our day will be unorganized as well. A Christian who is truly growing in the Lord will certainly guard that precious time with Him.

I hope you enjoyed that. I loved it! Hope you have a wonderful day. Please pray for Austin Bickford's bone marrow drive!

Love ya'll! Have a great Weekend! My baby turns 3 on Sunday! I can't believe it!!

Thursday

Mornin' Ladies! Hope you are off to a great one!! I just gotta share a funny thing with you. An "out of the mouths of babes moment" at it's finest!
Ok, so yesterday, Jackson wanted me to do something with him. I HAD to go to the bathroom before I did this activity with him. As we all know, the bladder doesn't hold up nearly as well after babies. Well, he decided to follow me to the bathroom, and his potty chair is sitting next to the "big" potty, so he decided to go "pee pee potty" too. (Except, he never pulls his pants down, and I wasn't in a good position to push it at the moment.) So, then, my sweet, dear, kind, loving son pats my behind and says "so cute". At which time, I'm so grateful that I am on the potty, because I DIED LAUGHING and we all know what that can mean. Oh, they are so honest and loving and say whatever they think at that age don't they? They are so totally in love with their mommies, and think we hung the moon, don't they? THEN HE DROPPED THE BOMB!! "What's that Momma?" as he pointed to my behind. And, even though you don't want to ask, but do want to know (much like myself at this point). I tried turning around and looking, to no avail. I got a mirror. Yes I did. Then, I heard these words come out of my mouth "It's a stretch mark that you probably put there you little turkey!!" I'll have to admit, it wasn't nearly as cute then.

I'm having a little technical difficulty and haven't had the time to work on it to update the calendar, events and prayer requests. Hopefully I can work on it today or tomorrow.

Ms. Rita is not going to be able to go to Women of Joy. So, ladies, we have ONE LAST CHANCE for you to go. If you are interested, please contact me.

Love ya'll! Thank God for your children, even when they say the unpleasant (but true) things!! Have a great one!!

What a Wednesday!!

Mornin' gals!! Boy, guess what? You're not going to believe it. Well, maybe you will, maybe you won't. Some may have been expecting this, and some (like myself) have been wondering (why not?) Some may have been praying, some may have been giving advice, and little nudges (like myself). Some may not have thought a thing about it. But, I'm here to tell you. There is a time and a season for everything. And it is the time, and the season (Thank you Lord for all your blessings! Every good and perfect gift is from above!!) Whew! Did you ever think it would be the time? Well, the good Lord knows the PERFECT time for everything. He knows what will happen, and when it will happen. Aren't you glad we serve a Good God that is in total control of everything. No matter what we think or do or say, He knows ALL and has it ALL figured out!!
Well, ya'll have an awesome day! May you be blessed in all that you do! Just kidding! I'm gonna tell you now!

Think about it Tuesday

Mornin' gals! Hope you're off to a good one! School today!! We're having a heat wave over here. It's like 20 degrees. The bird outside my window feels it too. Too bad my daughter isn't as excited to jump out of bed!

Just thought I'd share with you some of the devotional that was in my reading in my new Bible. I hadn't really thought about it before. But I sure do now!!

"What Abraham was promised was a legacy, a heritage to pass on, and an inheritance of faith that would impact not only his direct descendants, but also the whole world. What a tremendous blessing! What a tremendous responsibility! It should be the goal of every believer to leave a legacy of faith to their children, their grandchildren and beyond. Many people do not realize that their prayers will outlast them. Prayers you make for your great-great-grandchildren will not be cancelled because you die; they will remain before God's throne and will be answered even if you are not around to see it."

I need to start praying about my family members that haven't gotten here yet! How about you?

Have a great day! Love ya'll!

Monday morning

Mornin' Ladies!! Hope you are up and cheerful this morning! Just a little update. Brother Joe said Howard was home, and they did a scan on his head and they didn't see anything they were concerned about. But, for him not to drive until he saw his regular Dr. They did feel that he was kinda rushed through, so let's all still keep them in our prayers.

I got excited when I looked on the countdown to Women of Joy and it said less than 3 months, but then I noticed it said 2 months 4 weeks and 1 day (isn't that about 3 months? ;) Ha Ha!)

I'm getting into a lot of deep house cleaning! I have Jackson's room done. (Yes, that is all) Hope to get Austin's room done (Big chore) Gonna go to Clarksville tomorrow, the Lord willing, and get mops, brooms, and a rolling mop bucket for the church, and get stuff for Jackson's birthday party. (which is Saturday at the fellowship hall at the church.) Anyone who wants to come is welcome. Not a big party. Just gonna celebrate my little man which has been a huge joy and light in our lives since he's been here. It is from 2pm-4pm.

You know out of all of the things that God has given you, what do you cherish the most? I think probably what we mostly cherish aren't "things" but the people in which he has blessed us to walk through this life with. We can't take anything with us. Naked we came, and naked we shall return. I'm trying to simplify, mainly so we can enjoy each other more. All this junk is getting in my way. All this stuff is too much!! I don't think it's why God put us here. How many clothes can we wear at one time anyway? Well, I'll just tell ya. I have basically 2 pairs of pants my hiney can get into to wear to church. I keep telling myself that I might get into all these clothes that stuff my closet. I think my heart will be much more blessed without the mess. It's time. I'm ready. I can do this. A lot of things are going. Good Sam, get ready!

Ok, I'll get off my little high horse. Hope you all have a great day!! Love ya!!

Wednesday Wanderings

Mornin' Ya'll! I'm up early this mornin! Woke up at 4am, but didn't get up till 4:30. I've already done my devotionals, and Bible reading but was thinking about getting into my Ruth study before everything gets lively around here!

I love Bible studies. They make you think, and notice things, that you wouldn't normally notice. Like, take for instance, in my Ruth study, it compares Naomi with the prodigal son. Would you have ever thought to do that? I wouldn't have! Let me share where she goes with it.

"The driving force behind Naomi's choices to leave Bethlehem, and later Moab, was the same- a desire for physical nourishment. *The catalyst behind both journeys (Naomi's and the prodigal son's) seems to be governed by the physical and not the spiritual. On both occasions their physical circumstances and not necessarily the God of their circumstances dictated their decisions." Wow! Makes ya think, huh? Then, check out what I read this morning in my Daily Bible. Genesis 12:10 "Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to dwell there for the famine was severe in the land." I'm not saying that God didn't tell Abram to go there. (The Bible didn't say that He told him to, though.) And, Abram did get Sarai to lie about being his wife, and they did get kicked out of Egypt. But, what I am saying is that I would have never paid much attention to that before this study. Isn't it amazing? The more you read the Bible, the more you want to, the more you study, the more you want to and the many blessings of knowledge and understanding that are given to you for doing so!

You should have known by the title Wednesday's Wanderings (not wonderings) I'm not wondering about stuff ----- My mind is wandering!! ;)

Now! I've been wondering - or wandering - whichever you prefer, if any other ladies out there would like to start a blog too? I know I'd like to read some! C'mon! Just do it! Share with the rest of us! Pray about it. See what God thinks!

Love ya'll! See ya tonight!

Tuesday Thoughts

Mornin' Girls!! Hope you are off to a good one! I have a little explaining to do. I've been behind and just yesterday and today got some emails that were written a few days ago. Sorry. Tina, I've added Jackie and Ruben Wyatt to the prayer list. Please everyone, remember to lift them up. I can not begin to imagine the pain they are going through. They need our prayers.
Also, thanks Dottie for letting me know, and I need to let everyone else know. We are all full up for Women of Joy!! Woo Hoo!! Karol's sister took the cancellation ticket!! Karol says she's a nut, so, you can take from that what you wish.;)

My wonderful secret pal got me an awesome Bible that has commentary from Henry and Thomas Blackaby (The same ones that wrote Experiencing God) Amazing!! I love it!! It is also a daily Bible, so I can read through the Bible in 1 year! I've been anxiously awaiting Jan 1 so I could do one. I've read the Bible, (But not through in 1 year) So, I'm excited! I'm also doing a new study on Ruth it's from "The Living Room Series" and I'm really enjoying it. I love a study that takes you all over the Bible.

I'm excited about 2010! I believe and expect to see God moving in all of our lives like never before. I love all of you and wish the best for all of you.

And good news!! I can see the floor in the kitchen, most of the dining room, most of the living room, most of my room and we'll not talk about the kids rooms or the bathrooms!!;) Hopefully, we'll see them soon! And, I ordered the Wii fit and balance board yesterday from Wal-Mart (I've been to 2 stores and they were sold out from Christmas) so, I'll be starting that soon. And, Traci and Jeanie, it HAS to work. Austin won't even stop playing the wii long enough to eat, so I'm thinking, I have to be able to lose weight with it!! LOL !!

I'm a little rambly today, so, I better get off here before I torture you any more!!

Meeting Monday and Back to the Grind

Mornin' Ladies!! Well, is anyone besides me ready to get back to the normal routine of things??? I'm excited! The laundry is calling, (actually EVERYTHING is calling me from EVERYWHERE!!!) I'm a little late posting this morning because I got into a Bible discussion with Daddy. (That usually takes me a while!!!)Ha Ha!!

OK, highlights from the business meeting last night. If I've left out anything, or gotten it wrong, please let me know.

*We now have $1,700 anonymous donation for tables and chairs in the basement. (Woo Hoo)
*We are going to get prices, and exactly how many tables and chairs to get, and vote on it at the next meeting.
*We are trying something new with the cleaning of the church. We are going to be on a weekly volunteer basis, (trial till next month to see how it goes) There is more to clean now with the basement addition, and we don't want anyone getting burned out. If we don't have enough volunteers, we will have to hire someone.
Billy Miller is in charge of the cleaning roster. If you wish to volunteer, please contact him. Also, we will be purchasing a rolling mop bucket, mop and new brooms.
*We will be getting the piano tuned.
*There will be no Family Fun nights through the rest of the winter. We will be starting the Experiencing God Bible study on 1/24 and will go for 12 weeks (or maybe more)
*The charge of the Experiencing God Workbooks are $14.95 at Lifeway. If you want to give Bro. Joe and Jeanie $15. they will get the book for you. (They said they would pay the tax) and also the church will purchase 5 extra books for people if they come in on the middle of the study. If you have can't afford the book, tell Bro. Joe and accommodations will be made.

I can't think of anything else, If I forgot something, just let me know.

Have a great day!!

Also, if my secret pal is out there, LOVE MY GIFTS!!!

Happy New Year's 2010!!

Mornin' Ladies!! Hope you're off to a great year!! I'm so glad to be a part of Grace Baptist, and so glad to know you all! I'm looking forward to another year with ya'll!

Resolutions

So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" - John 21:15

Jesus has a wonderful way of restoring us when we fail Him! He does not humiliate us. He does not criticize us. He does not ask us to make a resolution to try harder. Rather, He takes us aside and asks us to reaffirm our love for Him.
Peter miserably failed his Lord when he fled with the other disciples from the Garden of Gethsemane. Later, he publicly denied that he even knew Jesus. Peter must have wondered if he had been capable of being Jesus' disciple when he was unfaithful to Jesus in His most crucial hour.
As you begin a new year, you may be painfully aware that you have failed your Lord in many ways. Perhaps you were not faithful. Perhaps you disobeyed His word to you. Perhaps you denied Him by the way you lived. Jesus will take you aside as He did Peter. He will not berate you. He will not humiliate you. He will ask you to examine your love for Him. He asked Peter, "Do you love me?" If your answer, like Peter's is "Yes, Lord." He will reaffirm His will for you. If you truly love Him, you will obey Him (John 14:15). Jesus does not need your resolutions, your recommitments, or your promises to try harder this year. If your resolve to obey God last year did not help you to be faithful, it will not make you successful this year. Jesus asks for your love. If you truly love Him, your service for Him in the new year will be of the quality that He desires. -Experiencing God Day By Day

May you all have a happy, blessed and Christ-centered New Year!! Love Ya'll!
